EXACTLY LIKE NOTHING ELSE
Hotel Nassau Breda, Autograph Collection, offers a stay with regal character. Behind its historic façade lies a world where heritage and elegance come together. Once the domain of the influential Bruheze family, three noble townhouses rose here, closely connected to the nearby Castle of Breda.
In 1805, the Assendelft House was acquired by the parish of Saint Anthony. Just a year later, in 1806, it opened its doors as a Roman Catholic orphanage. The Order of Franciscan Sisters settled in the building in 1849 and renamed it Het Liefdesgesticht. In 1903, new construction followed on the grounds of a former soap factory: the sisters commissioned a neo-Gothic chapel and a red-brick extension. Their religious domain expanded over the years, with the acquisition of the Bruheze House in 1934 and the Waelwijk House in 1950, shaping the foundation of the complex as it stands today.
